As a trusted welding supplier and induction heating solutions provider in Southeast Asia, ITW Welding Singapore works closely with our distributors to promote high productivity and cost-efficient solutions to metal fabricators. In part one of this article, we will give a breakdown of the popular welding machines from ITW Welding, so that you can make a more informed decision to meet all your metal fabrication and welding needs.

Diesel Engine Welding Machines

Diesel engine welding machines are ideal for remote jobsites that have no access to power. Miller® produces some of the world’s best diesel engine welding machines. The Trailblazer® and Bobcat™ are compact and highly portable welding machines that are designed for welding applications below 400 amps. For more heavy-duty applications, welders usually prefer the Big Blue® welding machines. Selected diesel engine welding machines have built-in air compressors (Air Pak™), which will allow welders to run pneumatic tools or to perform gouging. If multiple welders are working in close proximity, metal fabricators will benefit from deploying Big Blue® welding machines that offer two welding arcs (Duo).

TIG Welding Machines

Miller® TIG welding machines combine reliability and precision with a simple user interface. The Syncrowave® welding machine is designed for general manufacturing applications. Because the Syncrowave® has both Alternating Current (AC) and Direct Current (DC) output, it is capable of welding both aluminium and steel. For precision fabrication and automation applications, the Maxstar® and Dynasty® welding equipment are ideal choices. The Maxstar® produces a DC output for the welding of steel, while the Dynasty® delivers an AC/DC output for the welding of both aluminium and steel.

Multiprocess Welding Machines

Multiprocess welding machines can perform MIG, Stick, TIG and FCAW processes, making it easy for welders to tackle a variety of jobs without switching power sources. The Miller® Multimatic® welding machine is designed for light fabrication and MRO applications where the welder requires maximum portability and versatility. For pipe fabrication shops that want to achieve higher throughput and minimize weld quality issues, the Miller® PipeWorx Welding System is an all-in-one pipe welding solution that is easy-to-use. When metal fabricators in the construction, offshore shipbuilding and heavy equipment manufacturing industries require a multiprocess welding machine that can deliver excellent arc performance under harsh conditions, they usually opt for the Miller® XMT® or Dimension™ welding machines.

MIG Welding Machines

Intended for heavy industrial applications such as aluminium shipbuilding and aluminium truck and trailer manufacturing, the AlumaFeed® is a dedicated aluminium welding system from Miller®. For similar applications that require the welding of steel and aluminium, the Invision™ welding machine would be the preferred choice. Metal fabricators, in heavy industrial manufacturing, who want to take their welding to the next level will choose the Miller® Continuum™ advanced MIG welding system. The Continuum™ is a highly flexible welding machine that offers a superior welding arc performance and an intuitive user interface. On the other hand, for hobbyist welders and those working in light fabrication, the Millermatic® welding machines are ideal because they offer portability and versatility.

With advancements in technology and the need to meet the expectations of new welders and businesses, Miller Electric launched a new Deltaweld® series in 2023 for Southeast Asia.

Submerged Arc Welding Machines

The Miller® SubArc Digital welding machines are designed for ultimate reliability in high amperage welding applications. The three welding machines (SubArc DC 800 Digital, SubArc DC 1250 Digital, and SubArc AC/DC 1250 Digital) can be paired with multiple accessories for various welding applications such as offshore structure fabrication and LPG bottle manufacturing. The digital communication electronics help to simplify the integration of the welding machine, even in more complex automated systems.
