In the previous article, we gave a breakdown of the popular welding machines produced by ITW Welding. In this article, we will touch on some of the popular welding accessories that are manufactured by the ITW Welding factories.

Induction Heating Systems

Beside designing and manufacturing some of the best welding machines in the world, Miller® also manufactures a very popular induction heating system, the ProHeat™ 35. Induction heating improves jobsite safety, delivers faster time-to-temperature, and enables more uniform heating as compared to traditional heating methods such as open flame and resistance. The ProHeat™ 35 induction heating power source can be paired with different accessories for a variety of pre-heating and post-heating applications.

Plasma Cutters

Plasma cutters are commonly used in the metal fabrication process for cutting and gouging. Miller® offers three plasma cutters, i.e., Spectrum® 375, Spectrum® 625 and Spectrum® 875. The naming convention is related to the steel cutting capabilities of each plasma cutting machine. For example, Spectrum® 375’s steel cutting capabilities is rated at 3/8-inch thickness, or 0.375-inch. The Spectrum® 875 can also be upgraded with an automation kit to provide automation capabilities.

TIG Welding Torches

Weldcraft™ TIG welding torches and accessories are constructed and tested to handle the most intricate to the most demanding welding challenges. Weldcraft™ air-cooled TIG torches (A-125, A-150, A-200 etc.) are portable and suitable for welding applications up to 250 amps. For heavy-duty applications, Weldcraft™ water-cooled TIG torches (W-250, W-280 etc.) are available from 180 amps to 410 amps. When welding materials that are highly reactive to atmospheric contaminants, such as stainless steel, titanium, and aluminium, the Weldcraft™ gas lens is typically used to provide improved shielding gas coverage.

MIG Welding Guns

Miller® and Bernard® design and manufacture various MIG welding guns for hand-held applications. Besides the typical air-cooled and water-cooled MIG welding guns, the factories also produce specialty guns such as spool guns, push-pull guns, and fume extraction guns. On the other hand, Tregaskiss® manufactures robotic MIG guns, cobot MIG guns and fixed automation MIG guns that are more suited for advanced manufacturing facilities. Besides the MIG welding guns, the factories also produce a suite of innovative gun consumables such as TOUGH LOCK®, Centerfire™, Quik Tip™, and AccuLock™.

Welding Information Management Systems

For manufacturers who are are constantly looking for ways to improve their welding operations, but do not know where to start, Miller® offers two welding information management systems to help manufacturers. Insight Core™ is a passive, real-time monitoring tool that provides visibility into the welding operations so that manufacturers can establish a productivity baseline and then make plans for improvements. Insight Centerpoint™, on the other hand, provides guidance, control, and containment within the weld cell, thereby ensuring consistent weld quality.

In part three of this article, we will give a breakdown of the popular welding filler metals from ITW Welding, so that you can make a more informed decision to meet all your metal fabrication and welding needs.
